In 2007, one of Hungary's most advanced vegetable oil plant was built in the Industrial Park of Sarkad as an investment of BIO-MA Hungary Zrt., which produces de-gummed canola (rapeseed) oil used in biodiesel fuel production. The plant has an annual canola processing capacity of 60.000 tons (or 180 tons per day) and its complete technology has been delivered by Seed-Imex Kft (including grain reception, drying, cleaning and storage technologies as well as the vegetable oil pressing, filtering and degumming technologies). The plant began continuous operation on December 10, 2007.
Within 10 months of contracting, we delivered and installed the following equipment and technologies:
During operations the complete material flow is monitored and registered with regards to both input material (input scale) and final product (flow meter). The plant as a technological unit meets all the crtiteria of the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture (FVM) and has been recognized as a primary processing plant. Main technologiesThe grain dryer of the plant is a HEVES-X grain dryer which utilizes state-of-the-art technology – developed in the USA – that allows for uniform moisture withdrawal and energy efficient operation.a tower dryer. The plant's computer controlled HEVES-X 1200 grain dryer can be operated in three different drying modes, that is suitable for special drying applications such as providing highly moisture-homogeneous grain critical for vegetable oil pressing. The fully automatized two-stage press units installed in the vegetable oil plant in Sarkad, along with the filtering and degumming technologies, enable the processing of 180 tons of canola per day (in continuous operation). The pressing shop employs FLS 850 type two-stage pressing units, which uses an FL-200 type oil press for pre -pressing, while the final press is an FS-1000 type oil press.
Similarly to the pressing and filtering technologies, the continuous degumming technology is also computer controlled and its capacity can be adjusted between 1000-3000 kg/h. This technology is suitable for both water, phosphorus or citric acid based degumming. The output capacity of the plant is 20.000 ton per annum crude vegetable oil, whose quality meets the criteria to qualify as biodiesel raw material. Among others the vegetable oil produced in this plant a meets the most stringent requirements for phosphorus, water, and sulfur content.
